Telemedicine Information
Telemedicine Services are available in Arizona, California, and Virginia.
Telemedicine = consultation with a potential for a veterinary prescription or veterinary diet. Due to federal legal regulations, I cannot prescribe human medications, compounded medications, or controlled drugs (this includes gabapentin in Virginia).
In states other than VA, AZ, and CA, I can offer:
Recommendations on whether your pet needs a veterinarian (and how soon).
Help you find a veterinarian.
Offer advice and OTC products to help your pet feel better, if possible.
Telemedicine consultations include a thorough history and as much physical examination as the video examination will allow.
Pets often do not like to sit still (or even show up) for a video call. To assist with the video exam, please:
Submit pictures of any area of concern, or abnormal poop, vomit, or urine prior to the call.
Upload any prior lab test results or medical records (limit 10 pages) prior to the call, if you have them available.
Keep your pet in a room where you know you will be able to locate them during the call.
Keep any recent medications, shampoos, or topical products nearby so that we can go over them together.
For nutrition consultations, please fill out this diet history form beforehand, and upload it through Vetster so we can discuss it together during our appointment.
All pictures and documents can be uploaded directly to Vetster once your appointment has been made.
I appreciate your help so that we can make the most of our appointments!
